Hi, I'm Richard, founder of Easy P's Driving Academy I offer both Automatic and Manual transmission in vehicle lessons.
Learning to drive is one of life's biggest milestones, and choosing the right instructor can make all the difference.
My goal is to help every learner become a safe, confident, and capable driver in a calm, supportive environment where they feel comfortable learning at their own pace.
As a qualified Certificate IV Motor Vehicle Driver Training Instructor and Department of Transport WA Approved, I bring more than 25 years of professional experience instructing, supervising, mentoring, and developing drivers across the transport, construction, aviation, and oil & gas industries.
My career has been built on promoting the highest standards of safety, professionalism and driver competency in some of Australia's most demanding environments. This gives parents and learners the confidence that every lesson is delivered with experience, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to developing safe, responsible drivers for life.
I've worked with motorcycles, cars, trucks, heavy machinery, and specialised equipment in high-risk environments where safety is always the highest priority.
That experience has taught me that every learner is different. Some need to build confidence, others need to overcome anxiety, and many simply need someone who is patient, encouraging, and believes in them. That's exactly how I teach.

Unlike traditional supervised driving, mentoring sessions provide ongoing coaching that helps learners recognise hazards earlier, anticipate the actions of other road users, and make safe decisions in a wide range of real-world situations.

To build well-rounded driving experience, learners are encouraged to complete a variety of driving conditions, including daytime, night-time, wet weather, busy traffic, country roads, and freeway driving. These Instructor lessons teach you the skills you need to drive safely in most driving conditions. It includes hours of in-car training. Each lesson build on your driving experiences as you now prepare for the practical driving assessment. The lessons are designed to be in car with real world scenarios that a Department of Transport (DoT) assessor will test you on.
We specifically design each lesson to show the learner how good they actually are and how much they have progressed. Lessons are tailored to the individual minus the pressure of assessment conditions.

Our Mock Test Preparation Package is designed specifically for learners who are nearing their Practical Driving Assessment (PDA) and want to approach test day with confidence.
These personalised sessions focus on the driving skills, observation techniques, and decision-making expected by a Department of Transport (DoT) assessor.
You'll practice the real-world driving situations commonly encountered during the PDA, helping you understand exactly what is required while refining the areas that need the most attention.
The lessons include comprehensive one-on-one in-car coaching, followed by a realistic mock driving assessment that closely replicates the format and expectations of the official test. Our Practical Driving Assessment (PDA) Preparation Package is designed for learners who are ready for their driving test and want to ensure they are fully prepared, confident, and capable behind the wheel.
These personalised lessons focus on refining your driving skills in the same real-world situations you are likely to encounter during a Department of Transport (DoT) Practical Driving Assessment. From observation and decision-making to hazard perception, vehicle control, and road positioning, every lesson is tailored to strengthen the areas that matter most.
Rather than creating the pressure of a test. Each lesson is delivered in a calm, supportive environment where learners can continue building confidence while receiving honest, constructive feedback.
We focus not only on the areas that need improvement, but also on recognising how far each learner has progressed, helping them develop confidence in their own ability.

This package includes a pre–PDA Test 45-minute lesson and car hire. (Car is fitted with dual controls for Assessor control if required to ensure safety).

Cancellations made within 12 hours of your scheduled lesson will incur the full lesson fee, which must be paid within 7 days to avoid interest charges and external collection fees.
We understand that genuine emergencies can occur. In these situations, we are happy to reschedule your lesson without any fees. However, we ask that you notify us of any required changes as early as possible.
